A special reading club within the MNAC Reading Party, organized by Biblioteques de Barcelona. It will deal with mental health based on the reading and commentary of "Internament" (Angle Editorial, 2023), by Mònica Ramoneda.
As part of the Reading Party organized by the National Museum of Art of Catalonia (MNAC) within Healing Arts Barcelona, Barcelona Libraries presents a special edition of its reading club dedicated to literature and mental health. The session will focus on the novel “Internament” (Angle Editorial, 2023) by Mònica Ramoneda, exploring how fiction portrays characters living with mental health challenges or neurodiverse experiences, and reflecting on the social issues surrounding them.
The discussion will be led by Núria Juanico Llumà, a sociologist and cultural journalist specializing in the performing arts and literature. She currently works in the Culture section of the newspaper ARA, where she has published in-depth research on sexual harassment and abuse, including the case of the Institut del Teatre. Since 2022, she has also led the mental health reading club at the Biblioteca Esquerra de l'Eixample – Agustí Centelles.
