The Monastery of Pedralbes will host a day dedicated to cultural mediation in the field of arts in health on Friday, with project presentations and experiential workshops.
The Royal Monastery of Santa María de Pedralbes and the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC) are promoting the "Healing Arts in Practice" event, a space for meeting and exchange among professionals in cultural mediation, artistic creation, and the healthcare field.
The event aims to highlight experiences that demonstrate how the arts can contribute to individual and community well-being . Through lectures, project presentations, hands-on experiences, and a final collective experience, a tour will be offered of initiatives that connect creativity, health, and community, fostering reflection and interdisciplinary dialogue.
09:00 – 09:30 → Accreditation and welcome
9:30 – 9:40 → Presentation of the event. Led by the HAB coordinator and Anna Castellano y Tresserra, director of the Pedralbes Monastery.
09:40 – 10:20 → Inaugural lecture. "Horizons of art in health: museums, culture, and community as spaces for prevention and intervention," by Marián López Fernández Cao, professor at the Complutense University of Madrid and a leading expert in art education, art therapy, gender equality in the art system, and social justice through creative processes.
Project presentations will follow. Gemma Bonet Pascual will lead the Activities and Accessibility section of the Royal Monastery of Pedralbes.
12:00 – 12:30 → Coffee break
12:30 – 13:20 → Simultaneous practical sessions , in different spaces of the monastery according to the needs of each proposal
1:25 PM – 2:00 PM → Closing . Collective meditation in the cloister with Berta Meneses, a Filipino nun and Zen master, and Carina Mora, coordinator of the Spirituality Department at Casa San Felipe Neri and assistant Zen master.
